Need A Waterproof Backpack For Survival In West Oregon Weather?

Friday, October 16th, 2009

I need a waterproof bag to place my survival gear into, and you guessed it. It needs to be able to survive West Oregon’s raining season. I live on the West coast of Oregon, near Rainier and Astoria so that may give you and idea of the conditions I’m talking about. If you don’t, it’s wet or raining most of the year, rain in Fall and Spring and rain and snow in Winter. I was going to order a Large or Medium ALICE pack to use as my bag (odds are large), the size would fit perfectly for what I need but then I realized just how damn wet it is around here most of the year. I know that ALICE packs are water-resistant but not waterproof, I know they also have waterproof liners to put in your bags but that’s only for the main hold, if I go liner then I’ll have to get three other waterproof bags, smaller of course for the three other pockets on the front. Should I go with this idea or is there another bag that will fit my needs? Thanks. P.S. This bag I plan to practically l live out of in the woods so it’s subject to weather almost 24/7 when I use it.
