What Am I Doing Wrong?

Happy new years btw. First of all I will provide a little background information about myself; ok im 23 years old, come from the “land downunder”, have a bachelor degree, good job etc. I guess im an ok looking guy, i like to take care of myself. Im clean, tidy, honest, caring, slightly shy but outgoing as well when i want to be. I dont smoke, i drink a little on occasion, not into clubbing but would rather go out and eat, see a movie, take a walk or anything realy!
Im my spare time i like to be at the beach, i love the sand, sun and swimming, i surf, and body board in summer, snowboard in winter. I like cars, computers and technology and sports in general. One of my biggest passions right now is traveling, i recently returned home from the United States and Canada after almost 2 years traveling… in fact im planning on being back in America in May this year.
Now my question is what am I doing wrong, like why can I not get a girl friend. Im a really nice, caring guy! I see couples out there sometimes see really nice girls out there with boy friends who are complete douche bags, I just don’t get it. Why do nice guys finish last? This is kind of embarrassing but I have posted a couple of pictures of myself, im not shallow but I thought I should add some so you can get a picture of me…

Im not the kind of guy who goes out looking for a quick booty call, I want something long-term, as in marriage, kids etc but I can never find the right girl. I feel like im getting towards that age where im going to miss out!
At high school I had a huge crush on this girl and I made the biggest mistake of my life by turning her down when I was asked out… because I was too darn shy back then but if it happened today I wouldn’t hesitate to say YES. I think this has been part of the problem, years later I still find myself attached to this girl even though I know I will never be able to be with her because she’s married now and has a son.
